Eternal sunshine for a spotless mind

That could almost define my life here... Sun all the time that irrigates an empty mind! Once again, luckily my lovely friend FB exists otherwise I would have a hard time keeping up with the reality! Here it's as if time had stopped at the main gate entrance. After the double ID check, you enter a new dimension where nothing else matters but the international experience of your neighbor or the next trip you have to plan to get out of this bubble before you actually believe this is real world.

Well, luckily sometimes reality strikes back with some tricky details that just remind you of some inextricable and may be unexplainable constraints that make you wish you could just run away tomorrow.  But no, as O. made me realize last time, running away is not an option for me! At least not that easily as I cannot drive, there are no frequent bus that would just allow you to listen to your inner voice and jump in the first one that passes by, and you cannot imagine to stop whichever car on the motorway!

For example, important details that can definitely ruin your life when addicted as I am to independent cinema come in when you wish to go to the movie theater. Considering the culture and customs,  movies are usually edited to hide any frivolous scene and erase any bad mouthing from actors' speeches. On Saturday though, the video had not been edited and thus the cameraman did put a white screen in front of the camera every now and then to avoid receiving a Saudi spectators complaint. Imagine half of the movie polluted by these incessant movements! Terrible!!

Today, we had a very nice opera concert where the heavily gifted soprano was nicely singing at first; but got to cover her shoulders after three songs as, I am assuming, some complaints might have been received :-(

But luckily there are always positive details to be mentioned! On Thursday night I got my first horse back riding class in Arabic! I don't really know how I did manage to understand instructions but I definitely did very well and received Arabic compliments at the end :-) this class followed by a great dinner in a restaurant that served "crap" soup for crab soup and "tiger shrimp" for a meal that includes chicken and not shrimp, perfectly set the tone for the week-end!

Then, yoga and Colombian party came in to soften my body and eliminate any muscle pains :-) where else can you get all these hobbies without paying any outrageous rates? In KSA, you dreamed it, they make it reality!
